Description

SO… Whats different about our Walther Strong ALKAMAXX RENDER MESH?

ALKAMAXX Render Mesh is a Grade 5 fibreglass mesh, reflecting the industry-recognised classification for mechanical strength and durability in ETICS applications.

Our fibreglass render mesh products are designed for use in ETICS systems and are tested and assessed in accordance with EAD 040016-01-0404 and the European Technical Approval Guidelines (ETAGs). These guidelines were developed as common approval standards under the Construction Products Directive 89/106/EEC (CPD), and include our glass fibre mesh for reinforcement of cementitious or cement-based renderings.

We have been guided by the EAD (European Assessment Document) to determine all the key aspects that must be considered during the assessment procedure regarding the applicability of a fibreglass mesh product in standard cementitious environments. Our verified fibreglass products meet all the requirements listed in the relevant EADs. However, since this EAD does not contain a specific verification method for the application of fibreglass meshes with branded products, we cannot anticipate all possible combinations with other systems.

Based on our current knowledge, we are not aware of any incompatibility or hazards from the application of our fibreglass meshes alongside any cementitious or cement-based products used in ETICS. These meshes have been used in ETICS systems for over ten years by our customers, partners, and system holders—without any recorded failures.

Average tensile strength after ageing (MD/CMD – warp/weft) is tested and approved.

All elongation after ageing (MD/CMD – warp/weft) tested and approved to EN 13496.

Product Description

Within our range we also have our Venetian Plastering Mesh which is perfect for micro cement applications however your here to learn about ALKAMAXX and our render mesh. Please go to the ALKAMAXX COATING tab to learn more about our coating. Follow the application instructions below for install.

An obvious benefit of the fibre glass mesh on rendering systems is its ability to bind the insulation layer or the existing wall into a nice and strong finish. When the mesh is sunk into the adhesive basecoat, it provides a solid hardened layer.

Walther Strong HD Reinforced ALKAMAXX render mesh is ideal for reinforcing plaster or render, particularly around openings or areas of traditional weakness.

Note the positioning of the mesh is critical within the render thickness; no contact should occur with the substrate; likewise to avoid mesh being exposed in the scraping process it needs to be located mid thickness in a zone of the first 5 to 10mm of the total render coat.
